Summer Garden...

I love our garden, it's not particularly big, but it is a good size and if I ignore the ugly broken shed at the bottom (which will be still there long after I am gone! ..hahaha) I think we have quite a pretty garden and at this time of year it makes me smile and sigh such a lot  with happiness and contentment. I wanted to capture how pretty my garden pots are looking at the moment,  HUGE THANKS mainly to the lovely sunshine we've been enjoying for the past month and lots and lots of dedicated watering each day by the most lovely and saintly of husbands whilst I've been unable to lift the heavy watering-can :)

Angel Mim's little fairy gardens are looking pretty too...
Those succulent plants have grown sooo well in the tin kettle that I've had to sadly remove the pretty fake flowers that were added ...I'll probably have to do the same for the teapot soon too. I did manage to squeeze Tinkerbell back in her kettle, as Angel Mim loves her! ;)

I added a new tin bucket and plant just this last Friday when Mum and I went out for a little drive ...
cake might have been involved too! hahaha

We've gradually added some extra touches to the garden in the form of solar powered twinkly fairy lights :) I'm very boring and my pickiness couldn't cope with multi-coloured garden lights (unlike our neighbour whose cute garden is lit up like a mini Blackpool Illumination display ;)   so we have very sedate white lights ...hahaha  It's hard to get a good photo as the evening darkens and the lights start to twinkle ...but you can get a sense of how pretty and cosy those pretty, twinkly lights make the garden feel ...
The lights even make Hubby's broken down shed look a bit better! :) :)
I have to hope that my pots survive our week away in Cornwall with no-one to tenderly water them each evening, Hopefully we've got plenty more blooms and colour to last us through the school summer holidays.
Hugs Wendy x x x

I love the flowers and the twinkling lights. I love twinkling lights, by so do the squirrels. I have resorted to having a few in the house!

Have just discovered your lovely corner of the world...by way of Log Cabin Quilter’s blog...the garden images pulled me right in. The pops of color from all your flowers spoke to me and now I know my own garden needs this too...all ready thinking ahead to next season. The backdrop of your old shed is wonderful - so much character! And love your Twinkly lights!
