Christmas Day has been and gone ... and we survived ;) The Tree almost didn't but it is still standing if only with a little bit of help from leaning slightly against the wall ... I have said the next time it comes down - it stays down! :)  We had our traditional evening with Keith's family around ... brothers and sisters and lots of children ... lots of boy children!!!! Grandma and Grandad came to stay on Christmas Eve and were more than ready to go home on Boxing Day ... hahaha   Excited Angels and old frail Grandparents, despite loving one another very much aren't really conducive to extended periods of squeezing and hugging ... Grandad needed rescuing on a few occasions ... what can I say .. its Angel Love! :) I think the quietest the Angels were was around 6:30pm on Boxing Day evening after Grandma and Grandad had left for home and they were watching 'Wizard of Oz' on TV, they were completely mesmerised, quietest hour we've had all the Christmas holiday ... hahaha
All in all its been another Kirby Christmas, we've had  moments of frantic, hair pulling chaos and quiet peaceful snuggling moments , with lots of giggles and fortunately no tears! :)

Now we're starting to prepare for the New Year and back to school ... we're back earlier than usual this year , on the 3rd of January, Tuesday, so I need to make sure I've got bags and uniforms all ready and raring to go. So, even though its past Christmas I thought I'd share some of my favourite decorated corners, I don't quite feel that I hit the mark with my Christmas decorations this year, didn't fully get into it, but anyways here are some of the bits I liked :)
My Jim Shore Heartwood Creek Santa's .. Love them! A new one this year is the one by the front, you can't see it very well but he's holding a glass of milk and a gingerbread man cookie!! Had to have him :)

And my Snow Globe Santa and Snowman in my cubby corner ...
Out of reach from little Angel fingers, love the colours on the bases of the snow globes :)

My Trees, getting quite a collection, thanks to some lovely friends and the odd lucky find on the Internet and when out shopping. The one in the rusty bucket I found in the home department of 'Next', only £6, and once plucked of its excessive glittery berries and stuck in the bucket ( it came with a cement base wrapped in faux red suede fabric) then tied with a gingham bow, it looks quite cute stood with my trees :)

It wouldn't be Christmas without ...
My Ginger Christmas Tree and my Ginger shelf ...
I think this is just about my favourite corner, I just love the simplicity of it, its in the hallway and makes me smile each time I pass it :)

I Love my little Nativity that sits on top of the manky old microwave (really need to save up and buy a new one ... lol!)
The red toilet roll candle, is a new addition this year ;) made by Mim at school as one of her Christmas decorations, she was soooo proud of it when I took it out of her school bag,  it had to have pride of place next to the Nativity, most days she comes by reaches it down , has a look at it  and ever so carefully places it back ... it's like she's inspecting it to make sure I'm taking proper care of her work of Art!  :)

Santa's Sack is a newbie too ...
I love the 'Dealer in Good Stuff' printed on the front of the sack, its looking a bit squashed as its been loved a bit too much and been emptied of its straw stuffing and greenery tooo many times to count so I ended up hanging it as high up and out of reach as possible .. lol! You should be able to see a prim Ginger with some cones and berry greens , a candy cane and two teensy prim Santa dolls ... but like I said they're all a bit squashed and overly loved ;)

One last little corner ...
I just about managed to finish this cross stitch Santa pocket in time :) He's from a Country Stitches design and I soooo loved sewing him, so much sew ;) he was my second make, I'd already made a first as a gift for a friend and decided that I needed one for me tooo ... hahaha ... doing another second of another 'I need one too gift'  as well at the moment ... lol   I might get it finished before its time to put it away for next year .. I have a third second tooo .. hahaha but I probably won't manage to get around to that one just yet ... Can you tell I had fun making my gifts this year ... soooo much so I had to make them for me tooo!! hehehehee

Soooooo, that's my favourite corners this year , soon be time to take them all down and store them away for another year :(  But ...... Guess who comes next?????  Snowmen!!!! Yeahhhh!! Love my Snowmen :)  Actually can't wait to get them out ... they've been calling to me ...lol! All I need now is some snow.........  hahaha

Last of the Christmas hugs ... till next year :)

I think I might be nearly ready ... I only said nearly ;)  We finally got the tree decorated ....
As I was hanging up all the mostly homemade ornaments some I thought were looking a bit old and tired, some are a bit past it, some are not to my taste anymore, some are possibly even bordering on tacky :) But when I thought about it a little more I realised that each and every ornament represented a different part of our family life ...

Our very first tree ornament  ...
a cross stitch made by a friend who was my bridesmaid and whom over the years we've lost touch with :(   I think she lives in the US now, but her little 'First Christmas' gift inspired me to make firsts for each of the children ...
... even though Jacob is none too impressed with the lace on his, and I think I possibly got carried away with Esther and Mim's lacy edges ... lol! Not really what I would make now but fond memories. And I did try to make a new cross-stitched ornament for each year of our 'married ' Christmas's ...{{ Ooops.. reading that back again, somehow  makes it  sound like we're not still married  ... lol ...we are! Just not quite got all the yearly cross stitched ornaments to prove it}} ...hahahaha

Then there are the Gingham Angels ....
... made one year when we didn't have any extra pennies to spend on Christmas, I made them out of an old feather pillow and scrape of chequered cotton a lady from church gave me ... you should have seen the mess I made cutting up that pillow to use the cotton outer cover for the bodies and the feathers for stuffing :) we originally had about 6 Angels of different colours but are now down to these last three.  That was also the year that I made Abigael a Rag Doll ( out of the same feather pillow :) and I made Jacob a big knitted green dinosaur again with wool that was donated, Keith also made the children a black board and I 'borrowed' some chalk from Church :) It was our 'poorest' year, our Christmas dinner was a wonderful hamper full of the most delicious goodies and a beautiful turkey and all the trimmings, that was left  on our doorstep that Christmas Eve by some kind and loving person, I never found out who it was  but I thanked them with all my heart in my prayers and each year I pray that they are blessed with love and kindness where ever they are :) Wonderful memories ...

Then another year I was using my scroll saw and decided a tree with wooden hearts and stars would look cute....

... there was the year my Mum bought me some wool felt kits ...
I loved making them ... that was the year Esther was born 4 weeks early in November ( she was due to be a December baby) and was poorly all thru' Christmas and New Year, those little kits kept me sane :)

Our tree is very homely, a mix of differing homemade styles and tastes but as I was hanging them out and all the different memories were coming to mind  I couldn't bear to not hang each one up. Sometimes I feel a little embarrassed at not having a glitzy , sparkly tree with giant glass baubles all beautifully arranged, but then I remember that that's not who I am ... I'm a homemade kind of mum, that lives with sticky Angel fingers and boys that are big enough to know that I will pop that football if they kick it near the tree again! ;)  ... and really,  can you imagine how many glass baubles would last in my house ... not many ... lol!  After much thought and reminiscing I do love our tree and all its ornaments and decorations  :)   So there you go, the story of our homemade Christmas tree.

Now onto a new memory, one that was created this very last weekend, if you are of weak disposition you may need to finish here, because this is a tale of not epic but Angelic proportions ... We try to go to Church each Sunday, sometimes we are successful , sometimes thru' one thing and another it just doesn't happen, this week it happened :) And I was really pleased because I love Church at Christmas time, I love the Carols and the lessons, and I love the nativity that the children perform during Sunday School ... just all very Christmassy. So off we go, the day or so before we'd had a little bit of snow, not much but enough to have frozen overnight and cause the Church car park to become a bit of an ice rink. Nothing to worry about so far, except hubby on seeing the state of the paths and the car park decided he had to get his tractor out and clear all the ice ( Hubby is the Head Gardener on the site that our Church is situated on ... they're his grounds ...lol!) I was a bit anxious about having the Angels on my own during the service but I had Abi and Jake and a book full of stickers , I should be OK :)  the service went OK, Mim did try to tip the pew in front of us up (by stretching out her legs and pushing against the back of the pew) it did startle the old ladies sat on the pew,  but between you and me they did look like they'd been nodding off and need waking up ;)

fooooood! Lots of people, lots of munching and mingling and two very slippery and quick Angels!  Its at this point that everything kind of entered that slow motion stage, almost like an out of body experience that you have no control over. The Angels slip between two rotund gentleman, a gap I couldn't squeeze through, they dodge around a couple of blue rinsed grannies {the grannies are sisters and their hair always has a blue rinse , but they are really nice grannies, the kind you want to take home  :) } Through a group of young men and head straight to the plate filled with chocolate covered marshmallow s on sticks ... I'm still stuck trying to get past the rotund gentlemen, and to my horror see some kind, thoughtful lady give the Angels a chocolate covered marshmallow stick ... one each!!!! Noooooooooooooooooo!!!! Esther's face I have to say at this point practically glowed with heavenly radiance as she gleefully held her marshmallow stick firmly clamped in her hand ... then, she looked me directly ... and I mean directly ...  in the eye, laughed and legged it down the aisle of chairs set out in the hall. Now here was my dilemma ... do I run after the gleeful one , who  don't think I can catch as there are too many bodies in the way , or do I go for the Angel stood in place chomping away on her prize, that is reachable ???? I went for the chomper. BAD MISTAKE!! I nabbed Mim, delivered her safely into  arms of Jacob who was close behind me  and turned to see where Esther was ...  out of the corner of my eye I catch movement  and as I turn to look properly, my body is actually trying to respond to what my eyes are seeing before my brain has actually assimilated the horrific vision before me ...  across the hall is my Esther with her fingers firmly grasped in the hair of a lady sat down quietly next to her friend who is trying to eat       (a-nother!!) chocolate marshmallow stick! Then I see the hair lift from the first lady's head ... its a wig!!!! There follows an almighty tussle between the lady trying to maintain her dignity and keep her wig on her head, Esther mesmerised by this furry thing that she can move and wants to keep!! At the same time she's trying to make a grab for the marshmallow stick that the second lady is definitely not letting go of, people are wading in to try and save the lady and the wig , untangle Esther and the wig, stop Esther getting the marshmallow, relieve the lady of the marshmallow.... it was sooooo horrific it was hilarious ... I sincerely promise that I am not making a word of this up , its all frighteningly true! It felt like hours but in a matter of nano seconds of seeing all this Abi and I ( Abi had seen it from the other side of the hall where she'd been looking for her sisters) both converged on to the scene and literally had to push people out of the way so we could reach Esther, the ladies, the wig and the marshmallow. With profuse apologies we untangled all the necessary limbs, finger and hair pieces and tried to make a swift exit, as we pulled away there was still the matter of the second lady with the marshmallow stick .... the second lady still had hold of the stick and Esther had her fingers clamped around the actually chocolate marshmallow. I tried to suggest to the lady, could she let go of the stick, but honestly I don't think she heard me, she was just holding onto  it watching everything happen with a glazed  look on her face, so Abi and I prised Esther's fingers one by one of the now squidged mess of marshmallow leaving the second lady still holding it and the first lady trying to work out which way her wig goes back on ... again more apologies and sorrowful pleadings of regret. But we actually picked Esther up by the under-arms and legs and left as fast as we could, looking back over my shoulder all I could see was the wig back in place on one lady and the second lady dazedly eating sticky goo on a stick!!!! Abs and I just carried Esther straight out of the building and into the car park where we mat hubby, completely oblivious  to all that had just happened and told him ' home now!!'  I think he could tell by the look in our eyes not to ask any questions he just acted quickly and got us all in the car and home as fast as possible. We didn't even get to see the Nativity as all our drama/trauma happened before it started! Once home we told our frightful tale to hubby and he did what any man would do ... laughed his head off!!!

I write this all down not to highlight the most dreadful behaviour of my daughter that I misguidedly call 'Angel Esther', she who is totally oblivious of all the chaos she caused, as far as she is concerned, she found something soft and furry to play with and if one lady gives you a chocolate marshmallow stick ... all ladies must do that ... right!??  ;)   Ooo for the mind of an innocent :)   No, I write this because I need to remember that I should wear flat shoes and not heels to Church ... better for running in! ;)
Here endeth the woeful Kirby Christmas tale of 2011 ... I hope!
We might give Church a miss next week!!!! :))

I've been really worried the last week or so that I was starting to turn into the 'Grinch' this Christmas :(
Whilst everyone round and about me seems to be having festive fun, I've just felt a teensy bit crabby and stressed out. I've tried to think 'why?' and I've come up with lots of excuses.... the boiler has decided to break down, so we're cold and shivery which has led to coughs and sneezes,  I can't decide which I hate most ... a red runny nose , or a stuffy blocked nose ...lol!   Then there's the running backwards and forwards with Abigael to her new job, which she is really enjoying :)  I just don't enjoy going out in the car in the dark and cold ... sigh ;) But I have  found that a hot chocolate picked up from the local McDonald's drive-thru' on the way helps warm up my cold fingers ... hehehe ... so there are good aspects to being Mum's Taxi :)  Then don't get me started on the shopping ... I had to queue for 40 minutes on the self service aisle the other night for a carton of milk and a loaf of bread ... everyone is going crazy buying food ... Present shopping is another 'hate' , well not a 'hate' as such, just an emotional drain ... hahaha. So yet again I've turned to the Internet for gifts ... Hooray for Amazon!  I did take Abi into Manchester the other evening for late night shopping, it was horrendous... and soooooo expensive, I came home and got most things cheaper on Amazon, and I wasn't hustled and bustled by other frantic shoppers ;)  So you see I am most definitely leaning towards Grinch-i-ness this year ;)

Fortunately though I've had some lovely friends that have helped me :)
Karen ("Primitive Life in an English Cottage" blog) and I did a Christmas swap ... I forgot to take a picture of my gift for Karen, just a simple woolly cushion for her lovely primitive home, I'll have to see if I can pinch a picture of it from her blog ;)  Karen made me the most wonderful Ooak Snowman ...
Isn't he lovely, I feel soooo honoured that Karen made me something sooo special. He's definitely 'one of a kind' I love his nose and the crows and rusty bells, the fabric ... everything!
Thank you sooo much Karen for your wonderful gift. :)

Then ... I received another parcel from another swap I did with Tanya ("Friendship Crossing" blog), again I forgot to take pictures of my gifts... bit of a numpty ... ehh!? Have to hope Tanya takes a picture ... lol!  Tanya sent me a lovely box of all things Ginger :) .....
Soooo many lovely Gingers to Oooh and Aaaah over :) I love them all! Thankyoooou Tanya :)

And there's more! I had been busy planning a surprise package for a lovely friend ... Julia ( "Bilberry Grove" blog) but I was tooo slow and Julia beat me to the surprise bit!! :))  ....
I just love the Christmas pudding pincushion, and the snowman hanging is gorgeous... all made out of my favourite woollies , but most of all I love the tiny little label Julia sewed in the corner... 'made by Bilberry Grove' ... it just made me smile sooo much and think of my lovely friend Julia :)
Thank you Julia! :)  Poor Julia is still waiting for her surprise :(   I'm just soooo slow!  Fortunately I put the last stitches in tonight, so just need to head to the Post Office now :)

I feel so blessed to have such kind and generous friends, the gifts are wonderful and will be treasured, but the thing that touches my heart the most is knowing these lovely friends took time to plan and sew something especially for me, it fills my heart with love and gratitude.... Thank you for that wonderful gift :)    I even feel less 'Grinchy' ;) hahahaha...

The children all finished school and college on Friday and I can honestly say that I'm glad they are home for the holidays ... I'm sooo looking forward to snuggling up and watching some cheesey Christmas films, and drinking hot chocolate, even if I have to share with Angel Mim who seems to have taken a liking to sipping warm milky chocolate... especially if there's marshmallows involved ;)

Just before school and college finished I managed to get one last sewing class in at my little quilt shop. It was a Christmas one ... of course ... and called 'Twas the night before Christmas' and involved .... yes , more mouses! We made a cute little mouse in a bed... which I finished  :)  And a 'Santa's Sack' filled with letters for Santa and another mouse and other bits and bots ... which I haven't quite finished yet ;)   Here's my mouse in bed ...
He's very cute even if  I say so myself, the little candle came with the 'kit' but the blocks I got of E-bay ... just because! hehehehe  Now take a closer look at that candle....
Its a  grubbied beeswax candle, can you see those teeth marks? They're Angel teeth marks! :) Can you see why nothing is sacred around here ... lol! If its not light bulbs, its candles! I could mold the candle back into shape but I actually like the teeth indents ... some people save painted hand prints, I like my teeth marks ...lol! It was Angel Mim by the way ... but I bet you'd already guessed that ... hahaha

We bought the Christmas Tree today , and as of  an hour or so ago when we came to bed it was still standing, possibly because its not that interesting yet, its up and covered in fairy lights but no decorations yet, so nothing to pull at and play with :)  I wasn't feeling brave enough to fully decorate it tonight, saving that for tomorrow ...haha :)  I'm almost up to date with making the last of my gifts, just one to finish off for my Mum and one to start  (!) for Abigael, its a fairly straight forward 'make' so I'm hoping I can get it all done on Monday when the Angels go out for a couple of hours to the cinema with their carers ... have a number of hours to use up before the end of the month so if all goes well the Angels should have a couple of fun days out, that will hopefully help combat the Christmas cabin fever that always seems to come by the second day of the holidays :)  Abigael is just waiting to hear what her Christmas hours are, so she'll be busy and Jacob is more than likely looking forward to some 'girl-free' time on the wii with all his sisters out of the house !!! :)

So its late again, actually I think its Sunday now ... I started writing Saturday ... lol!  I hope I can get back before Christmas ... I had intended to try and write every day in December but as you can see I didn't make it ...lol! The best of intentions and all :)  Fingers crossed I can find some quiet moments ....  Ooooo Esther has just put her cold toes on me, we're snuggled in bed, she fell asleep watching a film on TV ... no idea what it was, not sure if I saw Clint Eastwood ... but she's all curled up asleep in a little ball, just with cold tootsies :) I best go snuggle and see if I can warm them up, might stay snuggled next to her too ... she's nice and toasty and its cold outside the duvet  ;)

Christmas Love and Hugs

December 1st!!!! ...  Almost December 2nd ... lol! Just  wanted to write December 1st in my blog/journal  :)  Don't reeeeaally have much of anything to say or tell, no pictures to show ... haha   Just literally wanted December 1st to show up on my journal dates .... sad!?

I can share that I've discovered the delights of apple cinnamon donuts!!! Ate two tonight! One on the way to my sewing class and one on the way home! Yummmmmmy!!!  ;)  And the lady at the till serving me in the supermarket told me that they are the lowest in calories  of that make of donut ... can't remember the make???  Not Baskin Robins , that's ice-cream ... Dunkin Donuts!?!?!?!  They're the ones in the glass cabinet in Tesco's ... cost a small fortune! But sooooooooo nice :)

Anyway, that's all I have, told you it wasn't much, just December 1st!  Oooops and guess what I've just realised??? I forgot to get the advent calenders out!!! What a numpty of a Mummy! Should I go wake everyone up .... Nahhh, it can wait until tomorrow, a double chocolate treat should get me out of trouble ... must have been those donuts that made me forget .... but Oooo sooo gooood! I think I might dream about them tonight ... obviously its very late now and I really should  be in bed fast asleep and definitely not writing such nonsense :)

Oooh well, Happy 1st almost 2nd of December :))

Thursday, 24 November 2011

Ooops! I've almost missed November ... I didn't have many goals this year but I did want to try and keep up to date with my blog/journal and write at least once a month :) Came a bit toooo close to missing it this month and that could have spoilt the whole year .... lol!  Well life here is pretty much  more of the same old same old... trying to think of any news ???? Had a fairly busy time with Abigael and sorting out her University UCAS applications for entry next year, finally got it sorted, well actually Abi got it sorted on her own cause I just couldn't make heads nor tails of it all. As it stand soooo far she's been offered places at Liverpool and Leeds Universities and has to attend interviews at Manchester and Lancaster ... I think they're 'shortlisted' interviews but not certain ... and I didn't want to push my luck by asking her to explain it all again to me ;) I just know that she's happy so far and that's good. The only University we haven't heard from yet is Newcastle , but that was our wild card, she'd like to stay close to home and Newcastle is several hours away. Why did she apply then ?  Well apparently it costs the same to apply to 5 as it does to 2 so why not use up all 5 options, don't ask me ...lol! ... I just write the checks (I'm good for that bit ..hahaha) She's hoping to study Biology and or Maths depending on which uni she finally chooses and gets accepted by. For now its a lot of studying for exams and a nail biting summer until results come out. In fact there could be very short finger nails around her for quite awhile as its exam year for both Abi and Jacob... A levels for Abs and GCSE's for Jake :o

Other exciting news for Abs is that she just found out on Monday that she's been offered a part time job at Asda supermarket... she's thrilled to say the least! Pennies!!! Its also a big boost for her self confidence, I'm soooo proud  of her, but a teensy bit sad too, my baby is really, truly growing up! She goes for induction training after college on Friday and could actually start 'work' as early as Saturday. I  hope its next week so she can go and give notice in to the charity shop where she's been volunteering each Saturday for the last year or so, she needs to say goodbye to all the sweet little old ladies that love her so much :)

Other news ..... Angel Esther hasn't been too well, more problems with those blips :( So much so that we made the sad but necessary decision to put her back on epilepsy meds, another lot, so far so good. The consultant far from been peeved at our on/off decision with the meds actually thinks that completely taking her off one set and clearing her system before trying a new set is good, after all that's what they do with lab mice !!!! ( Not tooo sure how to take that but I think he meant well!) Its just that there can be risks having no meds at all, although we, or rather little Esther, coped well in the early months with no meds,  this last month and a half our blips have increased to a point where she needs stabilising. We've also been given Emergency meds and resuscitation training ... obviously a weepy day for me ...sigh! But we got through it and whilst I pray that we never have to put any of it into practice as the epilepsy nurse 'training' us said  it puts Esther in a safer place. And most importantly we've been on our new meds for just over 2 weeks now and my Angel still has her smile and a twinkle in her eye ( That's what we fear the  most with meds ,  loosing our cheeky Angel into an almost dazed unresponsive stupor ... lots of prayers and crossed fingers!)  ... Boy my poor fingers are getting a work out lately, nail-bitten and crossed ...lol! ;)

We've had Angel birthdays too .... 'Baby' Mim turned 9 on the 26 October and Esther 14 on the 17 November .... 14!!!!!!  Aaaaall my babies are no longer babies ! :(  But I still manage to get lots of cuddles in ... well for as long as my knees can cope with a chubba 9 year old sat on them ...hahaha :) We had the obligatory birthday tea party, cake and candles, balloons, musical cushions (safer than chairs!!) and lots of dancing  and giggling :)  Now just gearing up for December which is full to the brim with dates for hospital appointments, education-plan reviews,  school parents evenings , end of year assemblies and any inset / strike days that school wishes to throw in ... lol! Not a long school month, I think we break up for the holidays on something scary like the 16th ... reeeeally hope I've got that wrong! ;)

So in a mad rush to try and plan and organise myself into getting into the holiday spirit I've been trying to finish off a few Autumn projects before I get cracking on the Christmas 'stuff' ... although it has overlapped slightly with making some gifts that have to be shipped out earlier but I can't show pictures of them ...lol!

I finished some more Blackbird designs cross stitches...

The middle one is a Country stitches 'with my needle &Thread' design "Autumn Splendor" I think .... Love their designs , have my beady eye on a few more ;)
I also finished up another one of Primitive Betty's designs ...

This one took me aaaaages to finish , all those tiny orange crosses...lol! But worth it in the end :) So Kind of Primitive Betty to give the design  as a gift to whomever :)

I haven't been neglecting my wools either ...hehehe...

This is another Pumpkins and Crow woolie By Buttermilk Basin , They finished theirs off as a framed picture but I knew I'd never get around to finding a frame 'just right' so opted to just make it into a cushion, I just used some of the leftover background fabric as backing for the cushion... not soooo sure having a light coloured cushion around where sticky-chocolatey-Angel-fingers can reach it but so far so good , its remained totally sticky-fingered free and sits very happily on the piano with my other pumpkins and crows cushion. :)

I'm still working on my BOM from Primitive Gatherings, The Christmas quilt is almost ready for adding borders just need to be brave and actually sew the blocks together, all the applique is completed and I'm really pleased with myself ... feel like the cat that got the cream ...hehehe Just need to be brave and trust myself that I won't mess it up joining the blocks :o Not sure how many blocks I 've shown , don't think I've shared these ....

In fact whilst I've been waiting to upload , look what I've done....

Yeah!!! Just laid them on the carpet to see how they look... :) No, I've actually sewn the Merry Christmas row together and pinned in the overlapping vine and what you can't see is that whilst I was waiting for that photo to upload I've actually sewn all the other rows together tooo ... not looking too bad if I say so myself , just going to finish that vine that meanders and check for any other teensy bits that need finishing before I sew all the rows together and its too big to handle :) Probably not today, its well after lunch time and my tummy is rumbling and Jacob left a Boost chocolate bar on the kitchen table when he rushed out the door to school this morning ... its been looking at me! I've managed to resist sooo far, I've only picked it up a couple times and given it the teensiest of squeezings ... lol! In fact when I think about it I've probably picked it up and squeezed it soooo much, that it probably won't be very nice to give him a squished chocolate bar ... I'd be doing him a favour if I ate it ;) Wonder if I can get to the shops to buy a replacement before he gets home , or maybe I should just play schtumm and not mention it and only confess if he notices ... kind of my life long rule really , 'do it quick-keep schtumm-and only confess if caught' !!! NOT a good example to set my children... What are Mothers these days coming to ? Honestly it all stems back to family values!  Hehehehe ... I think I can make it to the shop and back in time .... !!

Best dash!!!

Happy Halloween!!!! :) I'm trying to think if I've ever 'written' in my blog/journal on Halloween ???  I don't think so, I'm not usually that organised ... lol! ( I suppose a good way to find out would be to look back over my journal entries ... but that feels too much like hard work ... hehehe) So in case I haven't gotten around to it before ... Happy Halloween !!  :)  I do seem to take the long way around things ... hahaha ... I think I possibly spend too much time alone talking to myself  ;)  but then, even when I'm with the Angels its very quiet, not a lot of chit-chat happens when your Angels don't talk ... we get lots og giggles and the odd 'Mmm  mmm mmm' but that's not really a conversation is it !?  Well , I guess it is to my Angels, I would love to know what they are trying to tell me  :)

Anyways back to Halloween ,  what does Halloween mean to me ???  Why ....  Pumpkins of course :)  I do like a teensy bit of Spooky , a ghostie and a witch here and there and my new cute 'mummys' but I don't like scary spooky, I absolutely hate the blood and guts , macabre horror type of scariness. I'm ok with old fashioned Frankenstein and possibly a little bit of refined Dracula  :)  but not the gory stuff.    I Love trick or treaters, but I like them to make an effort and dress up if they are going to knock at my door ... I don't like those scary mask things where they are like Hannibal Lecter or that screamy face. I have 'tactics' for trick or treaters, I do have bowls of sweets at the ready but once the sweets are gone I put  a sign on the front door that says " sweets all gone but have lots of fruit left" Once I put that sign up, the doorbell never rings again and I have a quiet evening without having to  get up and down all night to say sorry we're out of treats  :))  Hahaha .... Honest it's worked every time  for the last 3 or 4 years. Sometimes I even amaze myself at how clever I can be  ;)   If I was mean I'd put the sign up just to stop trick or treaters coming by at all ... but I'm not that mean .. hahaha

Ready for lots of Pumpkin pictures??  I went to the Pumpkin farm/garden centre a week or so ago ...

I LOVE the pumpkin 'farm' but they certainly did seem to be a bit thin on the ground this year, not nearly as many pumpkins and gourds as last years visit, I was thinking I must have been late going and had missed all the best pumpkins,  but apparently not , they'd just had a very small yield this year  :(   { I should probably note that my own pumpkin plants failed again this year, lots of nice thick green leafy vines, some beautiful yellow flowers but not one single pumpkin!! :(  Maybe its the weather or something ... or maybe I was just lucky that one year ..lol!} At least the standing cow is still at the 'farm', even if he is looking a bit battered and bruised,  he probably needs a new coat of paint and a bit of poly-filler  lol!

I did manage to fill my basket up with enough pumpkins and gourds to keep me happy though ..  :)
I got lots of teensy, different coloured gourds and mini pumpkins. And being the pumpkin officiado that I am, I kept an eye out specifically for curly stems  :)  ... you'll see why in a bit ... hahaha.  Can't remember if I showed a picture of one of my naughty E-bay wins ... the baskets? Well here's one filled with all my mini pumpkins and gourds...
Don't you just love those curly stems?  :)
So that you don't  think its all been about buying pumpkins here, I've also been sewing some pumpkins, trying to do some different ones, mix it up a bit ... lol! Sometimes it's worked sometimes I ended up with a bit of a mess...lol!
These are my woolly pumpkins ...
I was kind of trying to make a couple of crazy wool pumpkins, but it didn't quite work out, the way they looked in my head was much more impressive .. hahaha. The darker red/brown one I quite like , the lighter one is OK but just not quite what I was hoping for. I think I maybe tried to use too many wool strips and then when sewing, stuffing and 'segmenting' {OOooooo! ;) } I didn't quite get it right. But I was pleased with the woolly stalks and leaves and felt they helped. The two in the back were made from a single piece of hand dyed , mottled wool and I thought they were OK :)
Next I made ....
A teensy woolly pumpkin pie, you can't see it too well in the photo, but the 'pie' sits in a cute fluted dish :)  Also a double woolly pumpkin with a bird on top, can't quite call him a crow or blackbird as he's made out of brown wool .... that's what happens when you sew late at night and you can't see what colours you're pulling from your stash :) The bird pattern is from a Renee Plains book, I've made a few before and they are soooo much easier than they  to make :) Also I made some homespun pumpkins to fill my little wooden trough. I would reeeeally like to have one of those 'dough bread platter trough thingy's' but they're not so easy to find here and bidding starts on E-bay a bit tooo high for me  :)  The giant pumpkin is another naughty e-bay buy from Jane at 'sourdoughdumpling' .... LOVE this pumpkin ... its mahoooooosive, I remember seeing it on Jane's  e-bay site last year and thinking , 'should I' ? Well this year it was a definite  'I'm going to' :) and I'm sooo pleased that I didn't fight it ... lol! It's just brilliant :) Almost as big as the Pumpkin my Angels brought home on Friday when they went out with their carers to a "Farmer Ted's", a childrens 'petting' farm, and got distracted by a 'pick your own .... pumpkins' sign ... the  carers got distracted obviously  ;) ... not the Angels ...hehehe ...
I'm not sure that picture actually shows you the true ginormous size of the Angel Pumpkin (that's what we're calling it ...lol!) There's a little bit of the microwave in the corner of the picture, the Angel Pumpkin is Bigger!! Lol! The Angels came home from their adventures out, all happy and excited :)  As one of our ladies was handing the pumpkin over to Hubby, she said that Esther had had a few 'drop' seizures during the day and as they were walking/struggling across the Pumpkin field after picking the pumpkin she was just praying that Esther didn't 'drop' and she'd be faced with the dilemma of who to save??? The Pumpkin or Esther?? I naturally said save the Pumpkin of course ... Esther has good rolling reflex's now! ;)  Oooonly kidding of course I meant for her to save Esther first :) hehehee

Well, we have a HUGE Pumpkin to finish carving, ready for a bit of spookiness whilst its still  dark and we can light our Pumpkin lantern's before we go to bed ... lol!  So I best go, that Angel Pumpkin isn't going to carve itself  :)    think its gonna take a lot of work scraping it out ... but think of all those pumpkin pies  and cakes and soup we'll be able to make ...  mmmmm ....  yummy! :))
Can you feeeeel the Pumpkin Love??   :)

Hugs  Wendy  x

Friday, 21 October 2011

Ooooo that was a long time to 'hold your breath' .. hahaha .. good job I told you not to lol!  ;)
And I'd like to tell you that we've had many exciting adventures and that I have lots to share ... not so I'm afraid :(  But ... I dooooo have lots of goodies  :))   But before we ... or I ( ! ) get too excited I should update the 'family-history' part of my blog/journal first :)

Sooo, Esther had been doing sooo well with her epilepsy, when we had a BIG blip, a scary blip, but hopefully just a blip :) She is doing really well at the moment and we do feel that her health and 'wellbeing' is better than it has been for well over a year ...  unfortunately blips happen! We have seen the consultant and he is keen to go back on meds but we're still hesitant to do that, but he is organising emergency meds and resuscitation training for Hubby and I  so that will help. I'd like to say that I'm brave and strong and handle these awful 'blips' OK .....{ I'm probably confusing things now, I say 'blips' meaning the Grand Mal/Tonic Clonic seizures, it just makes me feel better calling them 'blips' :)  }  But the truth be told I do nothing but cry and worry, not only at the time the blip happens but for days afterwards... what a wuss! Lol! There's no real bravery about it all, its just part of our life's and we get on with it, we have to,  as we have to with  lots of things, its just part of your 'normal' life when you have disabled children, I'd just rather not have the scary bits :)

On to something a bit more cheerful ... Mim!  My little Angelic Mim ;)  Everyone who knows Mim loves Mim, she has a very cheeky little face, she giggles and smiles most of the time, pulls the craziest of funny faces and has the funkiest dance moves ever! To say Mim is slightly mischievous is probably an understatement, it should probably be printed on the front of her forehead to warn people ... lol! I can remember that in her school review/report one year her teacher wrote that they referred to her in class as 'have-a-go-Mim' because if its possible , Mim will 'have a go'. She has no understanding of her 'disabilities', she is unfazed by her 'limitations' :) She doesn't quite understand why she 'can't do that' when she sees other children playing or 'doing stuff' ... she will always 'have a go'. Sometimes she comes out unscathed, sometimes not! :)  She decided to have a go the other night ... :)   Mim watches, she watches quite carefully, she's watched me empty the cylinder on the hoover, unpick any long hairs ... or threads ;) from the rollers under the hoover and she's 'had a go' herself.  I hadn't anticipated her watching me change a light bulb! Well she had watched me , and decided she'd 'have a go'. I don't recall balancing precariously over the banister on the stair case to reach the light fitting in the ceiling, I'm sure I used a chair ;)   I did mange to unscrew the bulb successfully, as did my little munchkin .... excellent problem solving and fine motor skills :)  BUT ....  I most definitely didn't decide to take a bite out of the removed lightbulb!!! ( Its OK, there was no blood and no glass shards everywhere ... it was a very neat bite!) You're thinking how could she get her mouth around the bulb part??? It was one of those loopy energy bulbs, so it was just a loop that she bit!!  Lol! After the initial shock and panic of 'my child just bit a glass lightbulb' moment, we were all quite calm and collected, no damage to Mim or her mouth, no broken glass shards to pick up, no nothing , all we have for the experience is a darkened hallway because we haven't replaced the bulb! Well not yet, need to give her a few days to move on to the next 'have a go' project! hahaha

I think its probably time to share the goodies...before anyone decides to report us to Social Services ... if you need the number I have it on speed-dial! ;)     I'm not tooo sure where to start (yes, there's that much ...lol!) I think the legitimate buys should come first....

{ I have to say that they are only legitimate because I got caught in the act so to speak .... and had to 'fess up :) One good thing to note is that if you happen to get caught ... once you've pressed the 'buy now button' or 'confirm payment button' ... there's no going back :) So press the button first before you 'fess up ...hehehehe!}  Anyway my buys ... some lovely woolly kits and my first woolly BOM bundle from PG .... Mmmmm yummy!! I just need to sit down and find some time to sew! I'm quite excited about both kits but I'd love to do the Fall Pillow first as the Autumnal woolly colours are scrumptious! Mr Postman was good to me too...no Import Charges :)

Next the not so legitimate buys ... the sneaky E-bay 'wins' ...lol ;) ...
These are some gorgeous woolly runners and Annie's from a lady called Kerrie on E-bay, her work is just beautiful, can you see how tiny those little Annie's are? Perfect in every way! And the Sheep Annie is gorgeous, got into a bit of a e-bay bidding battle for her, unbeknownst to me against a friend  ... lol! (we were both bidding...hahaha... I have to be reeeaally good now so my friend has no worries that I'll be bidding against her again...lol!)  And the woolly runners are so thick and luxurious , just wonderful, I have the penny one on my little 'nappy' cupboard in the family room, it looks sooo cute :)

OK more still to come :)   ....

Some Cinnamon Apples .... sooo tiny but smell soooo yummy, I keep seeing these from this particular seller, and they seem to sell quickly and often and everyone leaves such good comments about them, so when I saw that bidding time was almost up on them and that no-one had bid! ... Well how could I miss an opportunity like that? :) Can I also say on a side-note, Jane of Gingerbread Cottage on E-bay is reeeeaally good at making and 'smelling'  these little apples '
because even after Esther gave them all a soapy bath in the  kitchen sink they dried out well and still smell gorgeous!! they passed the Angel test ...lol!

Only a few more E-bay 'wins' ... I'm soooo bad I know, but if I left home alone  with no chocolate in the house what can you expect??? :) ....
Pumpkins of course!!! Maggie of Saltbox Primitives make the most wonderful things, over the years I've aquired quite a few of her creations, and these are just fan-tab-ulous!! :)  See how cute that teensy mouse and pumpkin are? Gorgeous! :) I would like to say that I stopped there but .....
A day or so later ... these were still there and no-one was bidding!!! Where's the Pumpkin Lovin' gone???? Its gone to my house...lol! I know, I know, there's no hope for me, what can I say?                 I Luuurrrve Pumpkins!! :)

The Pumpkin Loving doesn't end there either :) I did a 'Pumpkin Friendship' swap with Karen from 'Primitive Life in an English Cottage' :) Wow did I come out a winner :))  I just sent Karen a box of pumpkins, nothing fancy, not even any pretty tissue paper, probably just bubble wrap...I'm not so good at the pretty wrapping bit! So just a box of pumpkins but LOOK what  I got in return...
The most gorgeous 'Pumpkin Gathering' , I love, love ,love the pumpkin, such a beautiful shape and the fabric is soooo lovely, and what about that stalk! Love the curly stalk... I can also tell you that Karen is another great crafter ... that pumpkin stalk has taken a lot of squeezing and bending and lovin' from a certain Angel and its still curled and attached ... lol! In my gathering was also lovely woolly mouse and a crow and those beautiful stacking boxes, in beautiful Autumn fabrics.
THANK YOU soooooo much Karen :)
You really did spoil me, I love them all, I can even feel a 'stacking boxes collection' coming on ... lol!

Was I not one lucky girl? And my luck didn't end there either :)  Another Karen, from 'Primitive Treasures' e-mailed me  and we decided to do a swapsie too, again I sent of my box of bubble wrapped Pumpkins and received a lovely package from Karen in return :) ...
A lovely twiggy and berry wreath with a cute tin gingerbread man, mitten and snowflake, a smelly-luscious bag of rose hips ... mmmm and they do smell soooo good, Karen even gave me some refresher oil to keep them smelly :)   A cute wooden Reindeer head, a sparkly Angel (Because  I live in 'Angel-Land' ... lol ... Love that Karen! ... maybe I should rename my blog/Journal 'Angel Land' ...hahaha) And can you see that teensy Gingerbread man?? I LOVE him! Karen could just have sent him and I would have been happy...lol! Oooo even her card had Ginger men on the front too :)
THANK YOU to you too Karen !! :)
Lots of lovely goodies for me all for a couple of boxes of Pumpkins ... hahaha :)

Well my little net book is slowing down with all the picture uploading/downloading/messing around :) so I best close.  I have done some sewing other than making Pumpkins, but will have to show them next time :)  I have my Angels home today,  School Inset Day ... groooaann!! And they're also off all next week for the 1/2 term holidays :) They've been good girls so far, we've done some colouring (in colouring books not on my walls thank goodness) They're just watching the end of  ET on DVD , at the same time Mim is snuggled up on one side of me, Essie on the other. Mim keeps peering over to see what I'm typing and to look a the pictures ... there's bound to be 'have a go' thoughts going on in her little head ... lol!  I'm debating whether I'm brave enough to take them into the kitchen and try to bake some cookies ??? Usually we bake cookies one Angel at a time with both Abi and myself supervising/preventing eating of all the raw cookie dough ... lol! But they have been good and I'm not feeling stressed out, no Angel scraps as of yet ... 'by jove' I think I'll do it!!!!  :))
Sending Pumpkin Love to the Whole Wide World ... :)

Sunday, 2 October 2011

I don't know if you've noticed yet ...? But , if I say I'll be back tomorrow with more thoughts for my Bloggy-Journal, invariably it's days if not weeks later that I actually do get around to it...lol! Is there a moral to this sorry state of affair? Here's where I need something clever and witty to write, but I can't think of anything! :)   'Don't hold your breath', is probably apt, along with 'Life Happens'  and quite possibly 'Yeah...Whatever..'  Hehehehee :)

But I have been busy.....
Making Pumpkins of course!! I may have got slightly carried away and made a few extra but...well, you can never have enough Pumpkins! :)  Funnily enough Hubby asked me what it was that caused me to be 'obsessed' with my collections ( Pumpkins, Gingerbread men, Fabric, Buttons ... he named them all and more! Lol!)  And yes, he did use the word 'obsessed' ... like he's not obsessed with taking pictures with his camera and fancy lenses ... Hahaha.  Wasn't sure if I was been slightly physco-analysed, not sure he was that impressed with my answer...'Because they make me happy and smile' :) Lol!  I feel he's yet another member of the family that I'm going to have to convert to Pumpkinism.  :)   Do you see that lovely sign above my pumpkins? 'Fresh Baked Pumpkin Pies' , Love that sign... a naughty e-bay win that arrived on Friday ;) (The packages are very slooooowly starting to arrive!)

More Pumpkin Sewing ...

This is another Buttermilk Basins Design; 'Crows and Pumpkins' (not sure if that's its 'design' name, just what I call it , lol!)  Kitted of course by PG  aka  Primitive Gatherings, not that you hadn't already guessed that , lol! You know I LOVE PG!!! ;) Can you stalk a shop? A shop you can only visit on the web? :)  I'm soooo sad I 'stalk' the 'New' Page and 'Shop Blog' on PG's site every day (sometimes twice!) Can't afford to miss anything ... well actually I probably can afford to miss things, and save some of Hubby's hard earned pennies!! hahaha  Anyway, this has been lovely to sew, its turned out bigger than I thought, it's shown on the pattern as a framed picture, but I wanted to use it as a long cushion... its just turned out toooo long for the cushion form I bought, I'm thinking I'm going to have to use a bed pillow form ... its that long! I still need to finish little bits of decorative stitching so I've got time to mull it over and decide what to do  :)

I've also finished a yummy PG kit that I started last year..
....  a woolly crow redware centre-piece (can't remember its proper design name either, I think it came out of their PG Autumn book, but not sure!) ...  All I had to do to finish it was sew the binding around the edge, silly really that that was all that was keeping it from being completed, I had the binding in place and sewn within an hour! ( The colours are much richer in 'real' life, just a wishy washy picture...should have got hubby to take one with his fancy camera... ;) hehehee)

I made an impulsive buy last week ... with I hasten to add, the proper consultation and approval from dearest hubby before I made the purchase!!! We desperately needed a new toy box for the family room to keep all the Angels toys neat and tidy. Angel Mim (? the Angelic bit) has been more of an Angel of mass destruction than peace and tranquility just lately, namely destroying her toy boxes by climbing in  them and then breaking the sides because she's squashed and trying to stretch her legs out! (how do you tell a sweet gorgeous little thing that her body is tooo big to climb into the toy box anymore? Sweet thing has no understanding that she's 8 years old and tooo big ... :))  Over the last 2 years or so I think we've gone through 3 large, solid wood toy boxes that are just not Angel-proof, so I came up with the idea of buying a small two door cupboard/sideboard instead. I started searching, looking at E-bay and on the web, wandering around different department stores and furniture shops. I could find them but at such extortionate prices that I knew I couldn't even consider them ( I wasn't even sure that a small cupboard would survive Mim's 'play') Then in a charity furniture shop I found something, cheaper than the last few Toy boxes I'd bought, but a bit bigger than I'd anticipated....
It is old, and it isn't tooo pretty, I'd even say its verging on ugly,  it has a distinctive old person/cabbage smell, but it is gradually fading thanks to lots of furniture spray :) But I do like it and its growing on me, it could be a new love blossoming! Mim Loves it, she opens the bottom doors and plays with her toys, pulling them aaaaall out and then trying to stuff them back in and squash the doors shut. She loves opening and closing the drawers, no fingers trapped yet ;) lol! And the little cupboards on the top dresser... she at this very moment is stood trying to twiddle the tiny door knobs and unscrew them off! :) It's kept her amused for hours! Of course I've been tempted to 'dress'  it up a bit but just with small soft things that if she pulls down won't hurt her or get broken. So far so good... And should the worst happen and I get up one morning to find it smashed to smithereens, I haven't spent  a small fortune on it and the Charity shop I bought it from have gained some much needed pennies to help someone else :)
Oooooo, see those two tiny pillows on the very top shelf? ...
A couple of little 'freebie' cross stitch designs from 'Primitive- Betty's' quick and easy to sew but they look sooo good... the bottoms are all sewn closed now...just in case you are wondering ;) lol! I just added some old lace and dark fabric, sprayed the whole thing with an 'Ageing/Antique Spray' (bought of the web but in future I'll just use coffee/tea leaves, but the spray bottle is handy... lol!)   I've seen other stitcher's do similar things and thought it looked good,  and then I rag-filled them to give them an olden-lumpy feel . I just used my DMC threads, and I'm really happy with how they turned out. I'm currently stitching another 'Primitive-Betty's' freebie, a Boo Pumpkin with crow ... looking good so far and I'll hopefully finish it soon. So kind and generous of  designing ladies to share their talents and gifts :)

Lets see if I can squeeze one more picture in before blogger gets upset with me....
These are the wools that I got from my new e-bay woolly supplier a week or so ago. The colours are very yummy and what I've failed to show you here is that each colour is made up of three mixed textures of wool; a plain, a houndstooth and a check, all hand-dyed in a lovely mottled splodgy way (splodgy being my very own technical term...hahaha!) These are very generous sized pieces of wool , I was pleasantly surprised and I've already got a list of  the next bundle of colours I'd like to order... not for a week or so yet though! ;) { Hopefully the spies won't read this far but to conclude my confessions from a bloggy-journal entry earlier... I signed up for 3 new PG BOM's , yes 3!!!  The new Heart to Hand quilt, the woolly bundle stash builder and the woolly Banner kits ... sooooo naughty but soooo exciting! :) But obviously I feel the need to restrain myself for a little while longer yet! ... That and if toooo many packages arrive at once it could arouse suspicion ...hehehe}
That cute basket, bobbins and the glass pumpkins I found at a random shop, when I was out looking for toy box cupboards :) and just called to me, you can't ignore calls like that... it wouldn't be right. Sometimes my children wonder which still small voice I'm listening to! Oooops didn't mean that to sound blasphemous, sorry! I do listen to the right still small voice. { I'm sooooo never getting into Heaven :(}

Well before I land myself in any further touble I'd best close for tonight, its time to start getting Angels settled and ready for bed, school in the morning...hoooray! And I need to be organised as I've got Jacob at home tomorrow for a school Inset day, then Abi on a study day on Tuesday, not until Wednesday will I have the house to myself and will it be safe to say hello to Mr Postman!! hahaha Until next time.... remember 'Don't hold your breath' ... LOL!!!

Saturday, 24 September 2011

Its very late here, almost midnight...the witching hour :)  I'm snuggled up in bed with Esther (she's a bit 'twitchy' tonight :( so snuggling up with me so that I'm close by, just-in-case!) I have her cold little toes  and feet wrapped around my ankles ... its quite nice I have hot toes so I like her cold ones ..hahaha I should go to sleep but I'm just waiting for her to fall into a deeper sleep so that I know we're OK :)  I was going to watch a film whilst in bed, but there's only a scary one on TV ... 'Jeepers Creepers',  and whilst I like to be scared sometimes, I don't like lots of blood and guts scary films, I prefer the suspense type of scary film, so I decided to write instead :) ... Oooo this is rather boring dialogue, maybe I should wait to write until morning...lol!

Well its happened! Autumn has arrived.... Hooorraayyyy !!!! That means of course that its Pumpkin  Season here in the Kirby Home ... can you not hear the cheers of delight from my family??? For some unknown reason, they don't seem overly impressed with my Pumpkins ??? I think its just that they are untrained in the delights of Pumpkinism!! (I'm doing my level best to convert them ..hehehe)

So I've been busy this week scrambling about in the 'under the stairs cupboard', dragging out boxes and creating my pumpkin patch on top of the piano....
Looking a bit crowded there :) But I do love my pumpkins :)
I've also got a pumpkin table in the kitchen....
I've actually tweaked it a bit since I took the photo, but its more or less the same :)

I also have my favourite 'Spooky Corner' set up in the Family room, my old spookies have  been added to this year with a few more spookies ....
I'm in the process of making a little wool pumpkin runner that will sit on top of and disguise the music system... not quite finished yet :)
One woolly I did finish was my BOO hanging, have a closer look...
Its a Buttermilk Basin Design, kitted by PG (of course!) and was great fun to sew, I can't decide which is my favorite bit, the bone and the bat for the B or the pumpkin and ghost for the OO's, love the little spider too ;)  Ooo and that's a new Bobbin tree that I got from Karen of Primitive Treasures on E-bay, decided to make it into a Pumpkin Tree, nothing clever just sat some teensy pumpkins in the branches, very adventurous me ;) lol! hehehehee

These are my new goodies in the Spooky corner this year....
My Bobbin Tree from above, also some BOO boxes from my local Quilt shop in Southport. But my most favoritest  goodies are my mini 'Witchie in Training' and my 'Mummies', there's a Baby-Mummy and a Mummy-Mummy :) These are from Cindy of  'Homespun from the Heart', LOVE all her 'makings' :) I've wanted some 'Mummies' for ages so when I saw Cindy had made some more... well, I had to have them!

I do have some more pictures to share, still haven't shown you my yummy e-bay wool !  ;)   And there's another Buttermilk Basin design I've almost finished.... But it really is late here now , almost 12:45am or is it 'pm' ... always get them confused...its after midnight so am I 'am' now ??? Anyway Esther is most definitely fast asleep, she's unlikely to have a seizure now ( usually they happen within the first 10-30 minutes of her falling asleep...strange that they happen as she's fallen asleep I know, they can happen just as she's waking up too...) Fortunately she's been seizure free for almost 3 weeks now, well 2 weeks and 4 days... that's nearly 3 weeks , lol. And she's been medication free for just over a month, things are looking good, we just occasionally get the odd 'twitchy' night like tonight, but she's coping soooo much better, and eating like I've never known her to... 3 bowls of pasta the other night! Lol! Better than a forced spoonful, :)

Well my eyes are going blurry, its time for me to lay my head down on my nice soft pillow :) I'll try and come back tomorrow or Monday with those pictures....
Night, night...
Love Wendy x
